Greyhounds Top Goucher at Hoffman Courts in Landmark Conference Play

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team posted a 7-2 victory over visiting Goucher College in Landmark Conference action Sunday at Hoffman Courts.

The Greyhounds, who are now 8-6 overall and 3-2 in Landmark Conference action, swept the doubles action to take a 3-0 lead. Freshmen Eiman Nazif and Lauren Steinert were first off the courts with an 8-5 victory at second doubles while senior Brittney Eady and junior Skylar Oliwa won 8-4 at first doubles to give Eady her 45th career doubles win and move into fifth in school history. Sophomore Kate Rennar and freshman Emily Snyder finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-6 victory at third doubles.

Steinert was first off the courts in singles action with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at fourth singles while Eady posted a 6-3, 7-5 win at first singles to clinch the winning team point. Nazif earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at third singles for Moravian while Oliwa won in a tiebreaker in the third set, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) at second singles to give the Greyhounds a 7-0 advantage. Junior Grace Bailly rallied to force a third set at sixth singles before falling, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (16-14).

Moravian is slated to return to action on Thursday, April 27 in a Landmark Conference match versus The University of Scranton beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Hoffman Courts in Bethlehem.
