Hounds Remain Undefeated with Non-Conference Triumph at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team posted a 7-2 non-conference win at DeSales University Tuesday afternoon to improve to 3-0 on the year.

The Hounds jumped out to a 2-0 lead and had a 2-1 advantage after doubles action. Freshman Kristen Cassidy and sophomore Lauren Steinert were the first off the courts with an 8-2 victory at third doubles as Moravian took a lead it would not relinquish. Freshman Emma Angle and junior Kate Rennar posted an 8-1 triumph at second doubles for the 2-0 lead.

The Greyhounds extended the lead to 3-1 as freshman Brooke Adams earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at third singles before the Bulldogs captured the first singles contest to pull within 3-2. Moravian answered by winning the final four singles matches with Angle winning 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles, Rennar posting a 6-4, 6-1 victory at fifth singles, senior Grace Bailly capturing a 6-1, 6-3 win at sixth singles and Cassidy closing the match with a three-set, 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory at second singles.

Moravian is slated to close out its 2017 fall season on Thursday, October 5 when the Greyhounds welcome NCAA Division I Lafayette College to Hoffman Courts for a non-conference contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
