Cassidy Selected as Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College freshman Kristen Cassidy has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Cassidy helped the Greyhounds to a 7-2 win at DeSales University last Tuesday as the Blue and Grey wrapped up their fall season with a 3-1 record. Cassidy and doubles partner sophomore Lauren Steinert opened the match with an 8-2 win at third doubles. Cassidy then finished the afternoon with the last team points with a three-set, 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory at second singles.

"Kristen is a tremendous competitor," noted Director of Tennis Alan Heverly. "She is tenacious and has an iron will. Those qualities come out when she plays because she never gives up and is always looking for ways to win."

Moravian is slated begin its 2018 spring season on Sunday, March 18 at Wilkes University in a match scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
