Women's Tennis Sweeps Susquehanna on Senior Day at Hoffman Courts

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team posted its third 9-0 win of the season and first of the spring as the Greyhounds swept visiting Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action Sunday at Hoffman Courts as the Hounds celebrated Senior Day.

Moravian, now 6-1 overall and 2-0 in Landmark Conference play, jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles action. Junior Kate Rennar and freshman Emma Angle were off the courts first with an 8-1 win at first doubles while freshman Mary Angle and sophomore Lauren Steinert posted an 8-3 triumph at third doubles. Freshmen Brooke Adams and Kristen Cassidy finished the sweep with an 8-5 victory at second doubles.

The Greyhounds then won all six singles matches in straight sets with Emma Angle winning at first singles, 6-1, 6-2, Cassidy at second singles, 6-4, 6-2, Adams at third singles, 6-3, 6-2, Mary Angle at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-4, Steinert at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-1 and senior Grace Bailly (Pound Ridge, N.Y./Fox Lane HS) at sixth singles, 6-3, 6-0.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, April 14 in a Landmark Conference match at The University of Scranton beginning at 1:00 p.m.
