Greyhounds Post Landmark Conference Win at Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team captured a 6-3 victory at The Catholic University of America Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, now 8-2 this spring an 3-1 in Landmark Conference play, had a 2-1 lead after doubles action. After falling behind 1-0, the tandem of freshmen Brooke Adams and Kristen Cassidy earned an 8-4 win at second doubles to tie the contest while sophomore Lauren Steiner and freshman Mary Angle won 8-5 at third doubles.

The Cardinals won the first two singles matches off of the courts to knot the score at 3-3 before Moravian captured the last four singles contests for the win. Angle won 7-5, 6-2 at fourth singles while Adams earned the winning point with a 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(5) win at third singles. Steinert followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win at fifth singles while senior Grace Bailly earned a victory at sixth singles when her opponent retired in the second set.

The Hounds are slated to return to action on Sunday, April 22 in Landmark Conference contest at Goucher College beginning at 12:00 p.m.
