Greyhound Women Clinch Landmark Conference Tournament Berth with Victory at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team clinched a berth in the 2018 Landmark Conference Tournament with a 7-2 win at Goucher College Sunday.

The Greyhounds, now 9-2 overall and 4-1 in Landmark Conference action, led 2-1 after doubles action. The tandem of sophomore Lauren Steinert and freshman Mary Angle were off the courts first with an 8-1 win at third doubles while junior Kate Rennar and freshman Emma Angle extended the lead to 2-0 with an 8-4 triumph at first doubles.

The Blue and Grey went on to capture five of the six singles contests with Emma Angle off the courts first with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles. Mary Angle was done next with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at third singles while Steinert earned the winning team point with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph at fourth singles. Freshman Brooke Adams won in three sets at second singles, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2) while Rennar finished the match with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at sixth singles.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 26 when the squad hosts Drew University in a Landmark Conference match beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Hoffman Courts.
