BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team rallied from a 2-1 deficit after doubles action to earn a 5-3 win over Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference action Saturday in a match played at the Lehigh University Lewis Indoor Tennis Center to clinch the second seed in the 2018 Landmark Conference Tournament for the Greyhounds.

The Hounds, who are 11-2 overall, finish the conference schedule at 6-1 and avoided a potential three-way tie to earn the second seed in the tournament and the right to host a Landmark Conference Semifinal match on Tuesday, May 1 when the squad will host third seed The Catholic University of America at 4:00 p.m. on Hoffman Courts.

Moravian earned the first point of the afternoon when sophomore Lauren Steinert and freshman Mary Angle posted an 8-3 win at third doubles. However, the Blue Jays would take the other two doubles contests by 8-5 scores to take a 2-1 advantage heading into singles action.

Freshman Emma Angle evened the team score at 2-2 as she posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles. Freshman Brooke Adams gave Moravian a 3-2 lead when she recorded a 7-5, 7-5 win at third singles, and Mary Angle pushed it to 4-2 with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at fourth singles. The Blue Jays would pull within a point with a victory at second singles. The final two singles matches both went to third sets with Steinert eventually posting a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 win at fifth singles to secure the win. Junior Kate Rennar was tied at 3-3 in her third set at sixth singles when Steinert won, and with all of the seeding set for the conference tournament set after Steinert's point, the teams agreed not to finish the set.

Moravian will return to action on Tuesday, May 1 when the squad hosts Catholic in its Landmark Conference Semifinal at Hoffman Courts beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Greyhounds are second straight and eighth overall appearance in the Landmark Conference Tournament. The program won the conference title in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
