KINGSTON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis squad start the spring part of its 2022-23 season with 7-2 win at Wilkes University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the TK Academy.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds had a 3-0 lead after the doubles action. The senior tandem of Maddie Figiel and Cristina Merone had an 8-1 win at second doubles while senior Julianne Cassady and freshman Izzy Szmodis posted an 8-4 triumph at first doubles. The Hounds earned a point at third doubles by default
- Moravian won three of the five singles matches competed and also had a point at sixth singles by default. The Colonels captured the first contest to finish at third singles while Figiel made it 5-1 with the winning team point after a 6-3, 6-4 victory at second singles. After Wilkes make it 5-2, Merone recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles and junior Mara Stapleton won 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles to complete the contest
