SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's tennis team earned its fourth straight victory with a 9-0 win at Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
- The Greyhounds swept the doubles action to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Senior Julianne Cassady and freshman Izzy Szmodis began the contest with an 8-0 win at first doubles while junior Mara Stapleton and sophomore Rose Lombardo recorded an 8-1 triumph at third doubles. The senior duo of Maddie Figiel and Cristina Merone completed the sweep with an 8-6 victory at third doubles
- Moravian would capture all six singles contests as well to finish off the victory. Szmodis was off the courts first with a 6-3, 6-0 win at third singles while Figiel earned the winning team point with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at second singles. Cassady posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory at first singles before Merone won 6-0, 6-1 at fourth singles. Lombardo recorded a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at sixth singles while Stapleton finished the match with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-0 win at fifth singles
