Kratch Tabbed Landmark Women's Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior thrower Jenny Kratch has been tabbed as the Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performance this past weekend at the Greyhound Invitational.

On Friday evening, Kratch had a career-best toss of 46.62 meters (152 feet, 11 inches), which is fourth-best in school history, in the hammer throw to place fifth. Her ECAC qualifying throw came on her fifth attempt of the evening and second of three attempts in the finals. Kratch also placed eighth in the shot put Friday with a toss of 11.47 meters (37 feet, 7.75 inches), just 0.13 meters shy of the ECAC qualifying mark. On Saturday, she placed 10th in the discus with a mark of 33.21 meters (108 feet, 11 inches).

"Jenny had a great weekend that we knew has been coming for some time," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "The shot put wasn't as expected since she hasn't concentrated on that as much the past few weeks and it was such a big improvement however, we knew she was overdue for a big breakout in the hammer and quite frankly still feel she has a lot more to improve."

Moravian is slated to have several competitors at the Penn Relays Thursday to Saturday, April 24-26, and the squad will also be competing in the Lehigh University Games on Saturday, April 26.
