Women Tie for 42nd at ECAC Championships to End Season

TROY, N.Y. --- The Moravian College women's outdoor track & field team closed out its 2014 season in a tie for 42nd place of 61 schools scoring a point on the second and final day of the 2014 ECAC Division III Championships hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Friday.

The Greyhound scored seven points in the two-day meet, all coming on Friday, while the Massachusetts Institute of Technology won the team title with 56 points.

Junior Brianna Wright picked up three points for Moravian as she finished sixth in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.30 seconds after qualifying by winning her heat of the preliminaries on Friday.

Wright was also part of the Hounds' other four points as she ran the lead off leg for the 4x100 meter relay that finished fifth in a time of 48.53 seconds. She was joined by juniors Brielle Sutter and Morgan Redmond and sophomore Corinne Glass.

Sutter took 11th in the 200 meter dash in 25.56 seconds while Wright was 13th in a time of 25.70 seconds and Glass finished 21st in 26.12 seconds. Sutter and Wright each won their heats Friday afternoon. Sutter also placed 28th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.91 while Redmond was 14th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.94.

Redmond also competed in the 4x400 meter relay with seniors Amanda Smilgis and Jennifer Smilgis and freshman Meghan Newman, and the quartet posted a time of 4:28.36.

Sophomore Christelle Reglas tied for 23rd in the long jump with a lead of 5.17 meters (16 feet, 11.5 inches), which came on her first attempt of the afternoon.
