Glass Selected as Landmark Women's Track Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior sprinter Corinne Glass has been honored as the first Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the 2014-15 indoor season for her performance last weekend.

Glass was one of four Hounds to post ECAC qualifying marks at the season-opening Lehigh University Fast Times Before Finals meet at Rauch Fieldhouse. Glass was ninth in the 500-meter run with an ECAC qualifying time and school-record of 1:20.10 to break the previous mark by a full second. She also took 1.78 seconds off of the Landmark Conference record in the race. Glass was also 15th in the 200-meter dash in 27.50 seconds.

"The 500m is an odd distance to get used to, and Corinne ran a little too conservatively through the first 350 meters on Saturday, in fact her last 100 m was one of her fastest splits of the race which you wouldn't ordinarily see," commented Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "Even with a conservative approach, her 63.5 400 meter split was faster than when she ran the open 400 at this meet in previous years. She's clearly ready to run fast this year, and we're hoping she can make a push for NCAAs by March."

The Greyhounds are not scheduled to return to action until Friday, January 23, 2015 when they travel to the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College.
