Women's 4x400 Sets School Record at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team competed at the non-scoring Swarthmore College Final Qualifier Monday in the Greyhounds' last chance to qualify student-athletes for the 2015 ECAC Division III Championships.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of seniors Brielle Sutter and Morgan Redmond, junior Corinne Glass and freshman Casie Cronk finished fifth with an ECAC qualifying, Landmark Conference and school record time of 3:57.99. Sutter, Redmond and Glass and sophomore Lauren White placed third in the 4x100-meter relay with an ECAC qualifying time of 48.61 seconds.

Glass was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 25.35 seconds while Sutter finished third in the race in an ECAC qualifying mark of 25.53 seconds. Redmond was 15th in the 400-meter dash, missing an ECAC qualifying mark by one hundredth of a second as she posted a time of 59.11 seconds, while junior Meghan Newman took sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.01 seconds. White was 13th in the 100-meter dash in 12.97 seconds.

Junior Christelle Reglas placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.19 meters (17-0.5) while freshman Melissa Cheong was tenth at 5.11 meters (16-9.25). Cheong tied for fifth in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying height of 1.59 meters (5-2.5).

Junior Abbey Clark placed seventh in the hammer throw that was competed at Widener University with a toss of 40.31 meters (132-3), and she was fourth in the shot put with a mark of 11.27 meters (36-11.75). Freshman Trista Cunningham finished ninth in the discus with a toss of 34.24 meters (112-4).

Moravian is slated to return to action at the 2015 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships being hosted Springfield (Mass.) College on May 14-15 as the final chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships.
