Lambright & Brockett Set PRs in 5K on First Day of ECAC Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- The Moravian College women's track & field squad participated in the opening day of action at the 2015 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Springfield (Mass.) College Thursday.

The Blue & Grey did not earn any team points on Thursday but the Greyhounds did set several PR marks. Senior Emily Lambright was ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a PR time of 17:44.20, the fifth-best time in school history in her final collegiate race, while sophomore Meg Brockett was 13th in the 5K in a PR time of 17:51.85, the eighth fastest time in Moravian's top ten.

Senior Morgan Redmond finished 13th in the 100-meter hurdle preliminaries with a time of 15.13 seconds while senior Devon Bedell took 21st in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:57. 15. Bedell also ran on the Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay team with freshmen Kaitlyn McDonnell and Casie Cronk and senior Alyssa Tallon as the quartet posted a time of 4:20.55.

Freshman Mary Kate Duncan finished 12th in the javelin with a toss of 36.36 meters (119-3) while freshman Nicole Capuano had a toss of 27.84 meters (91-4) in the event. Senior Jenny Kratch had a mark of 45.39 meters (148-11) to place 18th in the hammer throw while senior Dana Fineman was tied for 20th in the pole vault at a height of 3.42 meters (11-2.5). Sophomore Kiara Bright was 19th in the triple jump with a leap of 10.80 meters (35-5.25).

The championship will resume on Friday at 10:00 a.m. as the Greyhounds finish off their chances to qualify for next weekend's NCAA Division III National Championship meet at St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University.
