Glass Captures 200m Dash to Lead Hounds at Collegeville Classic

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- Senior sprinter Corinne Glass won the 200-meter dash in 26.62 seconds while junior Meg Brockett was third in the mile run with an ECAC qualifying time of 5:16.82 to lead the Moravian College women's indoor track & field team at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College Friday evening.

Glass also finished sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.94. Sophomore Melissa Cheong placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.04 meters (16-6.5) while sophomore Carly Thorpe finished ninth at 4.50 meters (14-9.25). Thorpe was also sixth in the triple jump at 10.05 meters (32-11.75) while junior Kiara Bright finished fifth in the triple jump at 10.14 meters (33-3.25).

Freshman Ashley Dunn finished fourth in the pole vault at a height of 2.44 meters (eight feet)

Senior Meghan Newman was fourth in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries in 10.02 seconds and fourth in the finals with a time of 10.08 seconds while freshman Anna Osman made the finals in sixth place in 10.337 seconds, just edging Cheong, who ran 10.339, for the last spot in the finals. Osman was fifth in the finals in 11.41 seconds. Junior Lauren White placed seventh in the 60-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 8.35 seconds, and she was ninth in the 200-meter dash in 28.15 seconds.

Freshman Alyssa Limbaugh placed seventh in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:27.0 while junior Larissa Strycharz was ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:34.93.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 30 in the Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University at Rauch Fieldhouse.
