Glass Wins Two Events at Lehigh Games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track and field team competed at the Lehigh University Games Saturday afternoon in the last meet before the Landmark Conference Championships.

Leading the Greyhounds on the women's side was senior Corinne Glass, who captured first place in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes with ECAC qualifying times of 25.15 in the 200 and a 57.39 in the 400. Also running well for the Blue and Grey was senior Meghan Newman, who finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.93.

In the field events, junior Jackie Finnegan took eighth in the hammer throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 44.23m (145-1.5) while teammate Carly Thorpe jumped 9.75m (32-0) in the triple jump to grab ninth place. In the pole vault teammates senior Chelsea Swick and sophomore Beth Ann Davies tied for seventh both clearing 3.04m (9-11.75). Rounding out the day for the Greyhounds in the high jump were sophomores Melissa Cheong and Casie Cronk. Cheong took second place with an ECAC qualifying height of 1.63m (5-4.25) while Cronk took home fifth clearing 1.58m (5-2.25).

Up next for the Greyhounds will be the Landmark Conference Championship being help on Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8 at Juniata College.
