Glass Posts Pair of Sixth Place Finishes at ECAC DIII Outdoor Championships

WESTFIELD, Mass. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team finished in a tie for 16th of the 60 schools that earned a point at the 2016 ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Westfield State (Massachusetts) University and concluded on Thursday.

The Greyhounds had a total of 21 points after scoring six points on the second day of action. Senior Corinne Glass scored the team's six points with a pair of sixth place finishes Thursday that both netted three points. Glass was sixth in the 100-meter dash finals in 12.25 seconds, and she took sixth in the 200-meter dash in 25.09 seconds.

Glass is currently tied for 15th in the nation in the 200-meter dash, and the top 22 females in each event on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list will compete in next week's NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Wartburg (Iowa) College. Sophomore Mary Kate Duncan, who won the javelin at the ECAC meet on Wednesday, is sixth in her event and should head to the NCAA Championships for a second straight year. The final field will be announced on Saturday, May 21 at 9:00 a.m. on NCAA.com once all of the final last chance meets are completed.

In other action for the women's team on Thursday, junior Sarah Hughes finished 16th in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:45.14 while freshman Anna Osman was 21st in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.76. The Greyhounds' 4x100-meter relay team of senior Meghan Newman, junior Lauren White and freshmen Amari Schooler and Abigail Strouse placed 14th in 50.37 seconds.

Sophomore Melissa Cheong was 15th in the high jump at 1.59 meters (5-2.5) while sophomore Casie Cronk finished in a tie for 21st at 1.49 meters (4-10.5).

Moravian will find out on Saturday morning if Glass and Duncan will be heading to the NCAA DIII National Championships next week.
