Greyhounds Return to Action at Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field squad returned to action for the first time in six weeks Saturday at the Susquehanna University Orange & Maroon Invitational.

Leading the Greyhounds was junior Melissa Cheong, who was second in the high jump with an ECAC qualifying height of 1.57 meters (5-1.75), and Cheong placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.58 seconds after a preliminary time of 9.55 that was sixth. Junior Casie Cronk was tied for seventh in the high jump at 1.47 meters (4-9.75).

Freshman Carly Danoski had the top finish on the track as she took second in the 800-meter run in 2:23.28. Sophomore Anna Osman placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:03.36 while freshman Ashley Rohrer was seventh in the mile run in 5:36.35.

Moravian's 4x200-meter relay squad of senior Lauren White, sophomore Abigail Strouse and Cecilia Fullowan and freshman Lily Cooper finished fourth in a time of 1:53.46.

Senior Kiara Bright finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.33 meters (33-10.75) while sophomore Carly Thorpe took seventh at 9.99 meters (32-9.5).

Senior Jackie Finnegan had the top finish for throwers on the women's squad with a second place toss of 14.16 meters (46-5.5) in the 20-pound weight throw while junior Maggie Heft was seventh in the event at 12.63 meters (41-5.25) and sixth in the shot put with a toss of 10.79 meters (35-5).

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, January 28 at the Lehigh University Covert Classic at Rauch Fieldhouse in Bethlehem.
