Hounds Capture One Event & Post Three ECAC Marks at Kutztown 6-Team Qualifier

KUTZTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team took part in the Kutztown University 6-Team Qualifier on Saturday in the Greyhounds' final tune-up for the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships.

Senior Meg Brockett led the Blue and Grey with a first place in the mile run in 5:30.04 as she just edged freshman Katie Mayer, who was second in 5:30.23. Senior Larissa Strycharz was tenth in the race in 5:50.54. Freshman Ashley Rohrer was third in the 800-meter run in 2:29.38 while freshman Shayne McNally was eighth in 2:38.72 and freshman Alyssa Ullmann took ninth in 2:40.78.

In the sprints, freshman Carly Danoski placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.83 while sophomore Anna Osman was sixth in 1:01.83. Freshman Lily Cooper took fourth in the 200-meter dash in 27.55 seconds while sophomore Abigail Strouse was ninth in 28.16 seconds. Sophomore Amari Schooler was fourth in the finals of the 55-meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds while senior Rebecca Flitcroft was ninth in the preliminaries in 9.38 seconds.

In the field events, senior Jackie Finnegan was the runner up in the 20-pound weight throw with an ECAC qualifying mark and school record throw of 15.13 meters (49-7.75) while junior Maggie Heft was sixth at 13.98 meters (45.10-5). Sophomore Beth Ann Davies took third in the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying height of 3.32 meters (10-10.75) while junior Melissa Cheong was sixth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.15 meters (16-10.75). Cheong and junior Casie Cronk tied for fifth in the high jump at 1.50 meters (4-11).

The Greyhounds look to defend their Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday, February 25 in the 2017 meet hosted by Susquehanna University. Moravian has won all nine Landmark Indoor titles.
