Finnegan Break's Weight Throw Record at ECAC DIII Indoor Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field squad finished 21st of 35 teams scoring points at the 2017 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships after the final day of competition at Ithaca College Saturday.

The Greyhounds scored all 12 of their points on Saturday and were led by senior Jackie Finnegan, who set the school record in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 15.39 meters (50-6) to earn four points. Sophomore Amari Schooler was fifth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles in a PR of 9.17 seconds, the second fastest time in school history, to earn four points while junior Melissa Cheong picked up two points as she tied for sixth in the high jump at 1.56 meters (5-1.75). Freshman Carly Danoski also scored two points as she placed seventh in the 800-meter run in a PR of 2:18.87, which is the fourth fastest time in school history.

Freshman Katie Mayer was tenth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:08.05, which if fifth in school history, while junior Casie Cronk was tied for 14th in the high jump at 1.51 meters (4-11.5) to round out the competitors for the Blue and Grey.

Moravian may have one competitor at the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships on March 10-11 at North Central College in Illinois. The rest of the team will start the outdoor season at the Lafayette College 7-Way Meet on March 24-25.
