Finnegan Wins Two Events to Lead Greyhounds at Misericorida Invitational

DALLAS, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team was fourth of seven teams at the Misericorida University Invitational Saturday.

The Greyhounds had 70 points including 20 from senior Jackie Finnegan, who won the hammer throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 44.37 meters (145-7) and captured the discus with a toss of 35.50 meters (116-6).

Senior Lauren Suelke was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 4.67 meters (15-4), and she placed third in the triple jump at 9.75 meters (32-0).

On the track, freshman Lily Cooper was second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.01 in the finals while senior Lauren White finished sixth in 13.36 seconds after a time of 13.27 seconds in the preliminaries. Sophomore Abigail Strouse was ninth in the preliminaries in 13.46 seconds. Cooper was also the runner-up in the 200-meter dash in 26.39 seconds while freshman Meghan Lazarchak was ninth in 27.31 seconds.

Sophomore Amari Schooler finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.77 seconds. Freshman Ashley Rohrer was fourth in the 3,000- meter steeplechase in a time of 12:31.61 while freshman Rachel Mikols was seventh in 13:05.96. Freshman Carly Danoski placed fifth in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:08.96 while freshman Alyssa Ullmann was tenth in 5:22.30.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to participate in two events next week with the annual Penn Relays and the Lehigh University Games on the schedule as the team has its final tune-up before hosting the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships on May 6-7.
