Cheong Leads Five ECAC Qualifiers at Swarthmore Last Chance

SWARTHMORE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field squad posted five ECAC qualifying marks at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Qualifier Monday as the Hounds prepare for the 2017 ECAC and NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in the next 12 days.

The Greyhounds were led by junior Melissa Cheong, who was fourth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.43 meters (17-9.75). Cheong also tied for 12th in the high jump at 1.54 meters (5-0.5) while senior Kiara Bright finished ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.43 meters (34-2.75).

Sophomore Anna Osman took eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:06.86 while sophomore Amari Schooler was 12th in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 15.45 seconds. Freshman Lily Cooper ran an ECAC qualifying time of 12.62 seconds in the 100-meter dash while freshman Carly Danoski was 17th in the 800-meter run in an ECAC qualifying time of 2:16.33.

Senior Lauren White ran a time of 12.88 seconds in the 100-meter dash to finish in 23rd while sophomore Abigail Strouse was 31st in 13.08 seconds.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Wednesday, May 17 in the first day of action at the 2017 ECAC Division III Championships hosted by Westfield State (Mass.) University.
