Freshmen Lead Hounds in Lehigh University Opener to Begin Indoor Schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team started the 2017-18 indoor season Friday night at the Lehigh University Opener in Rauch Fieldhouse.

Freshman Martha Thorpe led the Greyhounds on the track as she was seventh in the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.63. Freshman Aimee Badman won her heat of the 60-meter dash in a time of 8.28 seconds while freshman Camryn Wheeler was first in her heat of the 200-meter dash in 28.14 seconds.

Freshman Jenevieve Eberly leapt to a ninth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.01 meters (16-5.25) to begin her college career while Thorpe was tenth in the triple jump at 10.09 meters (33-1.25). Senior Beth Ann Davies finished 11th in the pole vault at a height of 3.05 meters (10-0).

The Hounds are not slated to return to action until Saturday, January 20, 2018 when the squad heads to the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College.
