SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team returned to the top spot with the program's 10th Landmark Conference Indoor Championship after a 38-point victory at the 2018 meet hosted by Susquehanna University Saturday.

The Greyhounds, who were the runner-up last winter after nine straight Landmark titles since the conference began in 2007-08, scored 173 points while runner-up Elizabethtown College had 135 points and the host River Hawks had 90 points. The Hounds garnered six individual titles and a pair of relay champions in the meet. Moravian Head Coach Jesse Baumann and his staff were honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Coaching Staff of the Year.

"We felt pretty good about our women's chances going into the meet, but we know from experience never to get comfortable," commented Baumann. "The women had some unexpected results not work in our favor while E-Town was having a strong meet. Luckily, we're a very deep team which makes a huge difference in a team track meet. You can't win a meet like this with just 1-2 stars. Our women's short sprinters and hurdlers were firing on all cylinders today, we had some pleasant surprises in the throws, then our distance and jumps crew provided enough consistency to seal the victory. It was tough to lose last year by such a slim margin, so it's certainly gratifying to be able to leave Selinsgrove this time with a hard-fought win."

Junior Jordan Luciano earned the Greyhounds' first individual championship of the day by winning the long jump with a mark of 5.10 meters (16-8.75), and freshman Jenevieve Eberly added eight points with a runner-up finish with a leap of 5.60 meters (16-7.25).

Luciano also teamed up with sophomores Lily Cooper and Meghan Lazarchak and freshman Camaryn Wheeler to win the 4x200-meter relay in a time of 1:50.56. Sophomore Carly Danoski won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:16.92 for another 10 points.

The Greyhounds took five of the six scoring positions in the 60-meter hurdle finals with junior Amari Schooler capturing the title for a third consecutive winter in 9.35 seconds. Freshman Tatiana Lopez was second in 9.81 seconds and followed by junior Anna Osman in third at 9.84 seconds, freshman Cat Cole in fifth in a time of 10.22 seconds and Eberly in sixth place at 10.25 seconds. Moravian also took the top four spots in the 60-meter dash finals with Cooper winning in 8.24 seconds and followed by Schooler at 8.25 seconds, Wheeler in third at 8.29 seconds and freshman Aimee Badman at fourth in 8.32 seconds.

Osman earned another 10 points for the Greyhounds when she captured first in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:00.75, and junior Danielle Tomko was fifth in the race in 1:03.96 to earn two points. Osman, Tomko, Lazarchak and Danoski captured first in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:10.67 to close out the meet.

Senior Beth Ann Davies captured the pole vault championship for the second straight year with a winning height of 3.19 meters (10-5.5).

Moravian had four student-athletes score points in the 200-meter dash led by freshman Martha Thorpe finishing third in a time of 27.37 seconds. Wheeler placed fourth in 27.52 seconds and was followed by Cooper in fifth at 27.76 seconds and Luciano is sixth in 28.18 seconds. Senior Cecilia Fullowan was eighth in the race in 28.36 seconds while Badman took 10th in 28.63 seconds.

Senior Sarah Hughes earned six points for a third-place finish in the mile run in a time of 5:18.40 while sophomore Katie Mayer added two points for a fifth place in 5:31.36 and freshman Molly Talarico was 10th at 5:54.86. Hughes also earned four points for a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run in 10:47.68 while Novotni was ninth in 11:16.55.

Sophomore Ashley Rohrer earned two points for a fifth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 20:22.52 while sophomore Marlee Hornbaker finished eighth in 20:54.68 and freshman Nora Grimm took ninth at 21:58.45. The Greyhounds would also earn two points with a fifth place showing by the distance medley relay team of sophomores Shayne McNally and Alyssa Ullmann and freshmen Natalie Novotni and Talarico in a time of 13:40.56. Ullmann was also ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:34.21.

In the throws, senior Maggie Heft earned a point with a sixth-place finish after a toss of 12.65 meters (41-6), and freshman Layne Morgan finished 10th at 11.02 meters (36-2). Senior Trista Cunningham finished third with a toss of 10.81 meters (35-5.75) while Morgan took fifth at 10.64 meters (34-11) and Heft was sixth at a distance of 10.55 meters (34-7.5).

Senior Casie Cronk took third in the high jump to earn six points at a height of 1.57 meters (5-1.75) while freshman Janessa Ternosky took seventh at 1.37 meters (4-6) and sophomore Brooke Kusmider was eighth at 1.32 meters (4-4). Ternosky was also seventh in the long jump at 4.60 meters (15-1.25) while freshman Tyleen Lopez was ninth at 4.54 meters (14-10.75) and senior Carly Thorpe finished 10th at 4.45 meters (14-7.25). Thorpe also placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.05 meters (32-11.75) while Ternosky was a spot back with a leap of 10.04 meters (32-11.25).

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, March 3 at the Tufts University National Qualifying Meet.
