Women Capture Three Events Titles in Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field squad won three events including a relay race in the Muhlenberg College Invitational Saturday.

The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay team of freshmen Camaryn Wheeler and Aimee Badman, junior Amari Schooler and junior Jordan Luciano finished first in a time of 50.55 seconds. Schooler was also third in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.49 seconds and was followed by junior Anna Osman in fourth at 16.96 seconds, freshman Jenevieve Eberly in sixth place in 17.34 seconds and freshman Cat Cole in eighth at 17.47 seconds. Osman finished as the runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.47 while Eberly was fourth in 1:13.07 and Cole was seventh at 1:15.59.

Badman captured first place in the 100-meter dash in 13.16 seconds while freshman Martha Thorpe was fourth in 13.56 seconds and Wheeler took seventh in 13.67 seconds. Sophomore Carly Danoski won the 400-meter dash in a personal best time of 59.85 seconds while freshman Morgan Weaver was fifth in 1:03.75. Wheeler took sixth in the 200-meter dash in 27.51 seconds while Thorpe was tenth in 28.27 seconds.

Senior Trista Cunningham was the runner-up in the discus with a toss of 39.03 meters (128-3) while senior Ciara Stewart took third in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.11 meters (115-2) and was followed by sophomore Britney Blaise in sixth place at 32.35 meters (106-2) and sophomore Brooke Kusmider in eighth at 31.47 meters (103-3).

Senior Casie Cronk finished as the runner-up in the high jump at 1.57 meters (5-1.75) and she was 10th in the long jump at 4.49 meters (14-8.75) while freshman Janessa Ternosky was third in the long jump with a leap of 4.85 meters (15-11). Thorpe placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 9.87 meters (32-4.75).

In the distance races, freshman Grace Gilbert was seventh in the 5,000-meter run in 18:49.49 while sophomore Ashley Rohrer was tenth in the 1,500-meter run in 5:15.01.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday, April 13 in the first day of the annual Coach P Open with action beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem.
