Duncan Honored as Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Mary Kate Duncan '18 honored as Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Mary Kate Duncan has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performance this past Saturday.

Duncan was the runner-up in the javelin at the Coach P Invitational with a toss of 45.30 meters (148-7), a distance that puts the defending NCAA Division III National Champion third on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list in her first action of the spring.

"Mary Kate has been working through an injury and this was her first meet of the year," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "Obviously there were a few jitters in her first competition back, but she opened up with the third best mark in the country right now. She had a few key benchmarks to get over the past few weeks, her first meet clearly being the biggest of them but she feels great and we expect even bigger throws at Penn Relays and the remainder of the season."

The Hounds are slated to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 20-21 when they host the Annual Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field with action beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
