Women Post Four Runner-Up Finishes at Mideast Invitational Hosted by Widener

CHESTER, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team competed at the Mideast Invitational hosted by Widener University Thursday in the final meet for most of the Greyhound student-athletes for the season and some their careers. The Greyhounds finished sixth of 16 teams with 32 points with four second place finishes.

On the track, senior Sarah Hughes was the runner-up in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:49.49 while junior Anna Osman was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.95.

In the field events, senior Beth Ann Davies finished second in the pole vault at a height of 3.05 meters (10-0) while senior Trista Cunningham took second in the discus with a distance of 39.12 meters (128-4).

The Greyhounds have a small group of competitors for the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championship meet in Wisconsin beginning on May 24, and that group will be confirmed on Saturday, May 19. The top 20 males and top 22 females on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list will compete in the NCAA meet.
