LA CROSSE, Wisc. --- The Moravian College women's track & field closed out the season with one competitor on the second day of action Friday at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Sophomore Carly Danoski was set to run at 6:15 p.m. EDT but had to wait an extra three hours to make her NCAA debut due to a weather delay with just four events left on the track on the second of three days in the meet. Danoski finished sixth in her heat and 19th overall with a time of 2:13.53, the second-fastest time in school record behind her qualifying time earlier this month.

"Today was as challenging an experience you can have for your first NCAA meet with the weather delays, and nothing but dead time to let nerves build," commented Baumann. "The first heat went out incredibly fast and as it turned out Carly would have needed a half second PR to make finals. She positioned herself well, tried to make a move at 300 and 500 meters, but she didn't have enough in her legs to run the incredible times she needed. It was her second-best time ever, and most importantly a great experience for what will be many more NCAA meets for her."
