COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's track & field team took fourth of 24 teams with a total of 52 points at the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College Saturday with the Hounds winning two relay races.
Event Winners
- The Greyhounds 4x200-meter relay squad of seniors Helen Davis and Crystal Robinson and sophomores Abby Giamoni and Racquel Ramey took first in a time of 1:48.24 seconds to earn 10 points for the Hounds
- Moravian also won the 4x400-meter team of senior Rachel Byrne, Robinson, Giamoni and freshman Elena Bocchetti posting an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying time of 4:06.88 for 10 points. The time is also the seventh fastest in program history
Top 8 Scoring Finishes
- Robinson finished second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:01.17 to earn eight points while Giamoni took third in 1:01.81 for six points and Bocchetti placed eighth in a time of 1:03.14 for one point
- Freshman Tara Smurla was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter run in 10:47.82 to garner eight points while freshman Tori Champagne took fifth in 11:07.86 for four points and sophomore Rachael Goodman finished seventh in the race in 11:19.83 for another two points
- Senior Bella DeMassa took seventh in the 60-meter hurdle finals in 10.43 seconds to pick up two points. DeMassa had a qualifying time of 10.40 seconds in the preliminaries
- Byrne earned one point with an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:29.01
Top 10 Finishes
- Sophomore Liz Miskovsky was ninth in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 12.30 meters (40-4.25) while senior Maddie Wickel took tenth at 12.29 meters (40-4)
- Sophomore Ashley Rodrigues was tenth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 11.14 seconds
- Sophomore Amber Poniktera finished ninth in the 3,000-meter run in 11:24.83
- The Greyhounds' "B" 4x400-meter relay squad of DeMassa, Ramey, Rodrigues and freshman Makenna Mersch was tenth in 4:51.79
