READING, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's indoor track & field squad won two events at the Alvernia University PLEX Shootout Saturday.
Moravian Event Winners
- Sophomore Tara Smurla won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:43.46
- The Greyhounds 4x400-meter relay squad of junior Abby Giamoni, sophomore Elena Bocchetti, sophomore Shai Knight and freshman Rachele Grigoli took first in a time of 4:16.61
Moravian Top 10 Finishers
- Graduate student Jocelynn Itterly and senior Lexi Groff both tied for second in the high jump at a height of 1.52 meters (4-11.75)
- Giamoni was third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.44 seconds, and she was also fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.45
- Bocchetti took third in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:26.77
- Sophomore Meghan Myers finished fourth in the 3,000-meter run in 10:58.72 while freshman Alexis Hockenberry was sixth in a time of 11:13.01, freshman Alyssa Hockenberry took ninth in 11:27.78 and junior Amber Poniktera was tenth at 11:27.80
- Sophomore Ali Haefele placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.57 meters (34-8.25)
- Haefele also finished eighth in the long jump with an all-time personal best distance of 4.98 meters (16-4.25)
- Freshman Kayla O'Neil took ninth in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:52.36
- Junior Mikayla Woodring placed ninth in the shot put with a toss of 10.62 meters (34-10.25)
