Krasley Breaks Season Dig Record in Victory

The Moravian College women's volleyball team took down Marymount University Saturday afternoon at Johnston Hall, 3-0. Junior libero Jesse Krasley tallied 21 digs in the contest, giving her 654 this season, and breaking the previous record of 639 which she set last season.

The Greyhounds would win the first two sets easily, 25-16. The third set would be a battle that would go back and forth until Moravian came out on top 25-23.

Freshman outside hitter Kellianne Comitalo would lead the Greyhounds with ten kills, three aces and eight digs. Senior middle blocker Katie Moquete tallied eight kills, five assists and four blocks. Freshman Taylor Jennings recorded nine kills, four digs and two blocks.

Junior outside hitter Samantha Savite had six kills and two blocks. Sophomore setter Kelly Brown tallied 28 assists and 12 digs. Senior defensive specialist Ashley Schmidt had 11 digs and two aces. Junior middle blocker Jenny Wizeman had three blocks and one kill.

Sophomore right side hitter Katelynn Strohl totaled two kills and one block while junior outside hitter JeanAnne Carey had one kill and one dig.

This victory marks the second season in a row and 11th time Head Coach Shelley Bauder has coached her team to 20 wins.

The Greyhounds hit the road for their final regular season match against Widener University on Friday, October 28th. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Moravian opens up the Landmark Conference Tournament on Wednesday, November 2nd. They will take on The University of Scranton at Scranton at 7 p.m.
