Volleyball Drops Non-Conference to DeSales

Bethlehem, Pa.--- The Moravian College volleyball team dropped a non-conference match up against DeSales University, 19-25, 15-25, 21-25, Wednesday night.

The Greyhounds now 5-5 overall, traveled to the Bulldogs for a rematch after facing them in the Buttermaker Tournament at Muhlenberg College this past Saturday. Moravian wouldn't go down without a fight battling the for the third set, but despite best efforts would fall just short, 21-25.

Freshman outside hitter Mary Zacher with nine kills and nine digs for Moravian. Sophomore middle blocker Taylor Kornmann added seven kills and one block in the match.

Junior middle blocker Victoria Bobyak tallied six kills, one service ace and one block for the Blue and Grey while junior setter Megan Szkolnicki posted five kills, one service ace, 19 assists and four digs on the night.

Freshman libero Jean Markovic had a team-high 11 digs to go with a pair of assists while junior outside hitter Lauren Hostetler added eight digs.

The Hounds will resume play at Neumann University on Friday, September 12. They are participating in the Knights Invitational and are set to play Marymount (Va.) University at 4:00 p.m. and again at 8:00 p.m. against Haverford College.
