Volleyball Sweeps Penn State Brandwine 3-0

Bethlehem, Pa.--- The Greyhounds swept Penn State Brandywine in three sets at Johnston Hall on Thursday night, capturing the victory 25-15, 25-12 and 25-17 to give Moravian a 10-9 overall record on the season.

"I thought we came out strong, getting blocks right away and setting the tone," stated Head Coach Shelley Bauder. Bauder continued "We pushed the pace and hit out of different zones effectively and overall it was a good match for us."

Sophomore middle blocker Taylor Kornmann led the Hounds with 11 kills and four blocks while junior outside hitter Lauren Hostetler produced eight kills, five digs and a block. Junior setter Megan Szkolnicki paced the Blue and Grey with 26 assists, three service aces and a block.

Junior middle blocker Victoria Bobyak added five kills and two service aces, freshman Jean Markovic led the Greyhounds with team highs of seven service aces and seven digs on the nights match.

The volleyball team heads to Juniata College for a Landmark Conference showdown between Susquehanna University and Juniata College. The Hounds square off against the Crusaders at 1:30 p.m. and are slated to face the nationally ranked Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
