HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of Landmark Conference matches in a quad match hosted by nationally-ranked Juniata College Saturday.

The Greyhounds fell to Susquehanna University, 25-14, 25-16, 17-25, 25-16, in their first match of the day before dropping a 25-17, 25-19, 25-12 match to the eighth-ranked Eagles.

Sophomore middle blocker Taylor Kornmann led the Hounds with 10 kills versus Susquehanna, and she added two blocks while freshman outside hitter Mary Zacher had eight kills, 14 digs and a pair of service aces. Junior outside hitter Lauren Hostetlercontributed seven kills and 15 digs in the opening match of the day while junior middle blocker Victoria Bobyak had four kills and a match-high five blocks.

Junior setter Megan Szkolnicki paced the Moravian offense with 27 assists, and she had 11 digs and five kills while freshman libero Jean Markovic led the Hounds with 19 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Jackie Finnegan had three kills and three blocks versus Susquehanna while junior defensive specialist Andrea Giardina contributed seven digs and two service aces.

The Greyhounds opened the Juniata match by scoring the first three points of the match and holding a 9-7 lead before the Eagles pulled ahead. Moravian would also lead the second set 11-8 only to see Juniata rebound to take the lead.

Kornmann once again led the Hounds with seven kills and four blocks while Bobyak added six kills. Hostetler contributed five kills and three digs while Zacher had three kills and three digs.

Szkolnicki posted 16 assists with a pair of digs while Markovic added eight digs and two service aces.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, October 1 when the Greyhounds will welcome rival Muhlenberg College to Johnston Hall for a Matte Award match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
