Gryehounds Drop Non-Conference Match at Penn St.-Berks

READING, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball squad traveled to Penn State-Berks for a non-conference match Wednesday evening, falling to the Nittany Lions 25-22, 25-11, 25-14.

Sophomore middle blocker Taylor Kornmann led the Greyhounds in the match with seven kills while junior setter Megan Szkolnicki led Moravian with 21 assists to go along with four kills.

Junior outside hitter Lauren Hostetler added four kills and four digs for the Hounds while junior middle blocker Victoria Bobyak also had four kills to go with a team-high three blocks. Freshman outside hitter Mary Zacher contributed four kills and five digs in the match.

Freshman libero Jean Markovic led Moravian with 10 digs in the contest while senior outside hitter Kelianne Comitalo contributed two kills and six digs.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday, October 18 in their final two Landmark Conference matches of the year when the squad takes on The Catholic University of America at 1:30 p.m. and Goucher College at 4:00 p.m. in a pair of contests at Elizabethtown College. Moravian can clinch a berth in the Landmark Conference Semifinals with victories in both matches.
