Hounds Sweep Cedar Crest on Senior Day

Bethlehem, Pa..--- The Moravian College volleyball team honored their senior outside hitter Kelianne Comitalo with the final point of a sweep of Cedar Crest College in their last home event of the season with scores of 25-8, 25-20 and 25-9.

"It was a really fun match tonight, it was a great way to honor Kelianne in her last home match of the year," stated Head Coach Shelley Bauder. "She played very well earning a double-double, and we hit well as a team and it was an exciting way to end the home season. We are looking forward to some time off before we really push strong through the end of the season and well into post-season."

Comitalo earned her second career double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs together with a block. It was the eighth time in her career she reached double digits in kills and the first time this season. Junior middle blocker Victoria Bobyak had 11 kills while sophomore middle blocker Taylor Kornmann added eight kills and two blocks on the evening.

Junior setter Megan Szkolnicki paced the Hounds with 32 assists, adding on five kills and two service aces. Junior outside hitter Lauren Hostetler recorded six kills, one service ace and seven digs while sophomore Jaclyn Smith and freshman Mary Zacher pitched in both adding three kills for the Blue and Grey. Freshman libero Jean Markovic had nine digs to raise her season total to 506, becoming just the third player in school history to record 500 digs in a season.

The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, November 1 when they travel to Messiah College in a non-conference tri-match. They are set to start at 11:00 a.m. against Messiah before facing off with Arcadia University at 1:30 p.m. to wrap up the regular season.
