Volleyball Opens 2015 Versus DeSales on September 1

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball squad will host its 13th Annual Greyhound Premiere on Friday and Saturday, September 4-5 but before inviting eight other schools to Bethlehem the Hounds will entertain DeSales University to Johnston Hall to open the 2015 season on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m.

The Greyhounds, under the direction of Head Coach Shelley Bauder who is in her 23rd year, will welcome eight other schools to the nine-team Greyhound Premiere in Johnston Hall and Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse. Moravian will play Marywood University on Friday, September 4 at 4:00 p.m. to start the schedule, and the Greyhounds will also play Dickinson the same evening at 8:00 p.m.

After four matches in the Greyhound Premiere, Moravian has just seven other home contests scheduled during the season. The Greyhounds will host Landmark Conference opponent Elizabethtown College on September 22 at 7:00 p.m., Penn State-Berks on September 29 at 7:00 p.m., Messiah College on October 1 at 7:00 p.m., Gwynedd Mercy University on October 7 at 7:00 p.m., Widener University on October 15 at 7:00 p.m., Baruch (N.Y.) College and Gettysburg College on October 24 at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Greyhounds will compete in another tournament in September with four matches at the Buttermaker Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College on September 11-12 against Muhlenberg, Salisbury and Rowan. The squad will also head to Beverly, Massachusetts to compete in the Endicott University Tournament on October 9-10.

The Landmark will continue with Saturday tri-matches aside from the match versus the Blue Jays. Moravian will travel to Elizabethtown on Saturday, September 26 to play Juniata College at 1:30 and Susquehanna University at 4:00 p.m. The Hounds will then travel to The University of Scranton to play the host at 11:00 a.m. and The United States Merchant Marine Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3. Moravian will play their final two conference matches versus Goucher College and The Catholic University of America on Saturday, October 17 at Catholic in Washington, D.C. at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Moravian also has weekday non-conference matches at Cabrini College on September 16, at Penn State Brandywine September 24, at FDU-Florham on October 22 and at Arcadia University on October 26 with all four matches starting at 7:00 p.m. The Greyhounds will head to Bryn Mawr College for a tri-match with Valley Forge Christian College on September 19, and the Hounds finish out the regular season in a tri-match at Wilkes University with Rutgers-Camden on October 31.

The 2015 Landmark Conference Tournament is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, November 4 with the first round of the six-team tournament with the top two seeds receiving a bye in the opening round. The semifinal contests will be played at the top seed and the championship match is scheduled for Saturday, November 8.
