Moravian Opens 2016 Season by Hosting Greyhound Premiere

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College volleyball team will start its 2016 season at home with the 14th Annual Greyhound Premiere Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 2-3 in both Johnston Hall and Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse.

The Blue and Grey will play twice on each day with the first match on Friday schedule for 4:00 p.m. versus Centenary College followed by a second contest at 8:00 p.m. versus Medaille (N.Y.) College. On Saturday, the Hounds will first take on Alvernia University at 12:00 p.m. followed by a contest versus Pitt Bradford at 2:00 p.m. All four of the Greyhounds matches will take place in Johnston Hall.

Following the Greyhound Premiere, Moravian will head out on the road for a short trip to DeSales University on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. and then to Messiah College for a tri-match versus host Messiah and Gettysburg College. The Blue and Grey will return home for the Matte Award match against rival Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m.

The Greyhounds will head to Neumann University for four matches on September 16-17 in the Knights Invitational followed by a non-conference match at Bryn Mawr College on September 21. Moravian will return home for a four-match home stand, including the first Landmark Conference weekend of the season. The conference matches will take place on Saturday, September 24 starting at 11:00 a.m. when the Greyhounds take on the Catholic University of America, followed by a match with Goucher College at 6:30 p.m. later in the day. The Greyhounds will play Cabrini University on September 27 and Arcadia University September 29 at home before heading back out on the road for the second Landmark Weekend at Susquehanna University and two non-conference matches in early October.

The Greyhounds will host FDU-Florham on Saturday, October 8 before the final home match on Wednesday, October 19 versus Marywood University at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.  The two home contests are sandwiched around two Landmark Conference matches at Elizabethtown College on October 14. The Hounds will finish the regular season playing with four matches at the Wilkes University Colonel Clash on October 21-22, a non-conference contest at Penn State Berks on October 26 and a tri-match at Franklin & Marshall College to wrap up the campaign on October 29.

The Landmark Conference Semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, November 2 while the finals will be held on Saturday, November 5 at the highest remaining schools court.
