Hounds Drop Match to Swarthmore in ECAC DIII Tournament Quarterfinals

ANNVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team saw its 2016 season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to Swarthmore College in the quarterfinals of the 2016 ECAC Division III Championship Tournament being hosted by Lebanon Valley College.

The Greyhounds, the second seed in Region 2, fell by set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-17, to the Garnet, the region's top seed, on Saturday. The Blue and Grey finish the year with a 19-15 mark.

Junior outside hitter Mary Zacher led Moravian with seven kills, nine digs and three service aces while freshman outside hitter Brooke Kusmider had five kills and three digs. Sophomore middle blocker Erin Tiger added four kills while senior middle blocker Taylor Kornmann and senior right side hitter Jaclyn Smith each had three kills and a pair of blocks.

Freshman setter Victoria Kauffman had 15 assists to lead the Moravian offense and she added three digs while junior libero Jean Markovic had a team-high 16 digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Bridgette Devlin added three digs in the contest.
