Top 10 Stories of 2017-18 - #8 Shelley Bauder Earns 500th Career Win

No. 8 on the Top 10 Stories of 2017-18 is Head Coach Shelley Bauder's 500th career victory in her 25th season leading the volleyball program.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2017-18 athletic campaign. The next story in the second list of the summer as part of the Top 10 Stories from the past year selected by the athletic administration is our No. 8 story – Head Women's Volleyball College Shelley Bauder earning her 500th career victory.

Bauder completed her 25th season leading the Greyhounds in 2017 and reached the 500-win plateau on the final day of the regular season with a 3-2 win over The Catholic University of America, a day that was part of Moravian's first countdown of the summer at No. 5 on the Top 10 Exciting Games of 2017-18. The Greyhounds would finish the 2017 season with an 18-15 record while playing in the Landmark Conference Tournament.

With the milestone victory, Bauder became the 31st active NCAA Division III coach to reach 500 career victories and the fourth to hit the plateau during the 2017 season. She has a career mark of 500-338 in her 25 years in Bethlehem including leading the program to three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances and seven ECAC Tournament berths. She has posted twelve 20-win seasons including a school record 29-win campaign in 2012.

Bauder has coached five All-Americans, two Conference Players of the Year, one Conference Specialist of the Year, five Conference Rookies of the Year, 13 All-Region players and 41 All-Conference players. Bauder is a four-time conference Coach of the Year honoree and was also the American Volleyball Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 1997.
