Hounds Drop Two Matches on Second Day of Knights Invitational

ASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's volleyball team dropped both of its matches on the second day of the Knights Invitational hosted by Neumann University, falling by 3-0 scores to both Salisbury (Md.) University and Cabrini University.

The Greyhounds fell to the Sea Gulls 25-14, 25-7, 25-21 in the opener on Saturday. Senior middle blocker Erin Tiger led the squad with eight kills to go with six digs while senior outside hitter Brooke Kusmider added six kills and a team-high 12 blocks. Junior setter Victoria Kauffman paced the squad with 19 assists to go with seven digs while freshman libero Ally Locy had 10 digs. Sophomore right side hitter Emerson Gieryic and freshman outside hitter Katie Hudson each had two kills and three digs while freshman outside hitter Kirah Dreisbach had seven digs and sophomore defensive specialist Jasmine Pavlinsky contributed four digs.

The Hounds dropped set scores of 25-11, 25-21, 28-26 to Cabrini. Tiger had eight kills, two digs and a block as she became the tenth player in school history to record 200 blocks while also being named to the All-Tournament Team. Freshman right side hitter Sela Herber contributed six kills and five digs while Kusmider had five kills and a team-high 18 digs. Hudson and Dreisbach each had three kills with Dreisbach adding 10 digs and Hudson recording three digs. Kauffman had 26 assists and 13 digs in the contest while freshman middle blocker Paige Kowalski contributed two kills. Pavlinsky had 15 digs while Locy contributed 10 digs.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, September 18 when the squad plays Cabrini again in a non-conference match at Cabrini beginning at 7:00 p.m.
