
The 2023 senior women's volleyball players and their families were honored prior to the start of the season finale in Johnston Hall versus Penn State Berks.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's volleyball team finished off its 2023 season with Senior Day versus Penn State Berks in non-conference action in Johnston Hall Tuesday evening with the Nittany Lions rallying to hand the Greyhounds a 3-2 setback.
How It Happened
- Penn State Berks scored the first two points of the night before the Hounds ran out to a 7-3 edge. The Nittany Lions countered with a 14-5 run to move ahead, 17-12, and Penn State Berks eventually took the set 25-17
- The second game also saw the Blue & Grey with an early 5-2 advantage before the Nittany Lions rallied for a 14-10 lead. Moravian pushed back and knotted the score at 15-15. With Penn State Berks up a point at 18-17, the Greyhounds scored six consecutive points with freshman middle blocker Payton Reuber serving to move ahead 23-18. The Hound captured the set 25-21 to even the match at 1-1
- Once again, Moravian had an early lead in the third set at 4-1, and the Blue & Grey were up five points at 10-5 before the Nittany Lions came back and took a 14-13 edge. The Greyhounds answered the run with seven of the next points before winning the set 25-22 to take a 2-1 lead
- Moravian started the fourth sec with a 6-1 advantage, and the Blue & Grey led 14-11. However, the Hounds scored just one points the rest of the set as Penn State Berks used a 14-1 run to take the fourth set 25-15 and even the score at 2-2
- The Nittany Lions earned the first four points of the fifth set and jumped out to a 10-2 lead. Moravian closed with 13-7 before Penn State Berks scored the final two points
- Prior to the match, Moravian honored its seven seniors – Sophie Bauer, Kat DeYesso, Hannah Hayes, Allie Ludlow, Autumn Marrero Grace Silfani and Emily Szy
Inside the Numbers
- Junior outside hitter Jenna Deegan paced the Greyhounds with 17 kills while junior right side hitter Makenzie Krasley recorded eight kills
- Senior middle blocker Autumn Marrero had five kills while freshman outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky added four kills, four digs and a pair of blocks
- Reuber contributed three kills, five blocks and three digs while freshman outside hitter Gabbie Reigner added a pair of digs and two service aces
- Senior middle blocker Grace Silfani recorded two kills while senior outside hitter Sophie Bauer had one kill
- Junior setter Emily Solomon led Moravian with 35 assists to go with 13 digs and a pair of kills while sophomore setter Ally Plitnick added three assists
- Freshman libero Sam Love contributed 11 digs and a pair of service aces while senior defensive specialist Allie Ludlow had 14 digs
- Senior defensive specialist Emily Szy finished with 11 digs while senior defensive specialists Kat DeYesso registered 10 digs
