John Joseph Yanek is entering his seventh year with the Greyhounds' program in 2016. He is currently in his 26th year as head boys volleyball coach at Freedom High School and 12th year as the director and coach of the boys AAU volleyball club program, Velocity, based out of the Lehigh Valley.

Coach Yanek previously served as head coach and assistant coach for the girls volleyball program at Catasauqua High School, head coach and assistant coach for the girls volleyball program at Emmaus High School and assistant coach for the girls volleyball program at Whitehall High School. He currently plays on local men's and co-ed volleyball teams in the Lehigh Valley.

Yanek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986 and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Lehigh University in 1988.
