Women Take 8th in Open Race at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. --- The Moravian College women's cross country squad ran in the Open race at the Princeton University Invitational Saturday in the team's final meet before the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships.

The Greyhounds finished eighth of 29 teams with a score of 209, placing third of the nine NCAA Division III squads in the race. Senior Emily Lambright paced Moravian with a time of 23:46 on the 6,000-meter course, placing 31st of 302 runners.

Sophomore Meg Brockett was 44th in the race with a time of 24:08 while senior Claire Del Casale took 67th in 24:39. Sophomore Sarah Hughes finished with the same time as Del Casale and was one spot back while freshman Jillian Troisi was 73rd in 24:43.

Rounding out the Moravian runners were freshman Meredith Colton with a time of 25:24, freshman Christine Hughes in 25:30, freshman Kirsten Lebo at 25:47 and sophomore Larissa Strycharz in a time of 26:28.

The Greyhounds will rest for a week off before competing in the 2014 Landmark Conference Championships at Goucher College on Saturday, November 1. The women's race is slated for noon.
