Brockett Breaks School Record at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College senior Meg Brockett shaved 20 seconds off of the school record as she placed fifth individually to lead the Greyhounds at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University Saturday.

Brockett ran a time of 21:06, besting the old school record of 21:26 set by Heather McGarvie, on the 6,000-meter course as she placed fifth of 373 runners in the women's Brown race Saturday. It was a career-best time by 46 seconds by Brockett as she helped the Greyhounds finish 21st of 42 teams in the Brown race.

Senior Sarah Hughes finished 41st with a career-best time of 22:03 while freshman Katie Mayer was 152nd in 23:07, improving on her best time by 41 seconds. Freshman Ashley Rohrer had her first sub 24:00 minute race with a time of 23:54 while freshman Carly Danoski turned in a time of 24:04.

Freshman Jane Burgoyne ran a time of 24:20 for the Greyhounds while sophomore Alyssa Limbaugh ran 24:46. Rounding out Moravian's runners were freshman Rachel Mikols with a 25:30, freshman Marlee Hornbaker in 26:07 and junior Kirsten Lebo in 27:22.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 8 at the DeSales University Invitational.
