Brockett Earns 4th Landmark Conference Women's XC Athlete of the Week Honor

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior Meg Brockett has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season for her performance this past Saturday.

Brockett placed second of the 255 runners at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble in Ohio with a time of 21:19.5 on the 8,000-meter course, the second fastest time school history and just 13 seconds off of her school and conference record set two weeks ago.

"Meg had another great race running her second fastest time of the year and only being out-paced by a sub 17:00 5k runner," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "She tried some different tactics from what she's used to by taking control of the race fairly early, and it'll be really good experience for her moving forward into the Championship season knowing she can succeed with multiple strategies if she needs to use them. Her race at Paul Short showed us that her goal of making NCAAs seemed like a plausible one to aim for, and Oberlin reinforced that. By no means will that be easy, but it does seems to be a realistic objective as we get into the last month of the season."

Moravian is scheduled to return action on Saturday, October 29 when the Greyhounds host the 2016 Landmark Conference Championships at Bicentennial Park in East Allen Township on the border of Bethlehem and Northampton beginning at 11:00 a.m.
