Moravian Women Run at Lehigh Invitational to Begin 2017

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country squad raced in the annual Lehigh University Invitational Friday evening to begin the 2017 season, finishing second of the three non-NCAA Division I schools in the meet. The Greyhounds hadh 44 points while West Chester University of Pennsylvania was first with 24 points and Muhlenberg College recorded 63 points.

Sophomore Katie Mayer led the Greyhounds with a fifth place finish among the 35 runners in a time of 23:17.25 on the 6,000-meter course while freshman Grace Gilbert was sixth in a time of 23:23.09. Sophomore Carly Danoski placed eighth in 23:40.20 while freshman Molly Talarico took tenth in 23:51.43.

Sophomore Marlee Hornbaker rounded out Moravian's top five with a time of 24:43.43 to finish 17th in the race while junior Alyssa Limbaugh was 19th in 24:52.47 and sophomore Alyssa Ullman finished in 21st place in 24:56.51. The Greyhounds had four other runners in the race with freshman Nora Grimm had a time of 25:43.10, freshman Julia Freet posted a time of 26:07.52, senior Kirsten Lebo recorded a 27:57.70 and freshman Allison Nicolosi finished in 30:21.66.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, September 9 when the team heads to the Juniata College Invitational in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, the site of this year's Landmark Conference Championship race in October with the women's race scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
