Greyhound Women Win Juniata College Invitational

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country team raced in a preview of the course for the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships later this year at the Juniata College Invitational on Saturday with the Greyhounds finishing first of seven schools.

The Hounds scored 41 points to finish 28 points ahead of the Catholic University of America. Six of the seven Landmark Conference schools that have cross country teams competed in the meet.

Freshman Grace Gilbert finished second of the 58 runners in the race in a time of 24:38.10 on the 6,000-meter course. Sophomore Katie Mayer placed fifth in 25:13.90 while sophomore Carly Danoski was ninth in 26:01.90. Junior Alyssa Limbaugh took 12th for the Hounds in a time of 26:33.60 while sophomore Marlee Hornbaker was 12 seconds back in 13th place.

Moravian had seven other runners in the race with freshman Molly Talarico finishing in 27:14.60, sophomore Alyssa Ullman running a time of 28:00.10, freshman Natalie Novotni posting a time of 28:03.50, freshman Nora Grimm clocking in at 28:35.10, freshman Julia Freet finishing in 29:03.70, senior Kirsten Lebo running a time of 30:32.10 and freshman Allison Nicolosi posting a 32:41.10 time.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday, September 29 when the squads head to the Annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on the Goodman Campus in South Bethlehem.
