Greyhound Women Take Third at 2017 Landmark Conference Championship Meet

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's cross country squad placed third at the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Juniata College at the Standing Stone Golf Club Saturday.

The Greyhounds had a team score of 89 points while Elizabethtown captured the team title with 23 points.

Freshman Grace Gilbert paced the Blue and Grey finishing the 6,000-meter course in 25:03.82 for a 12th place showing of 84 runners and a spot on the All-Conference Second Team. Sophomore Katie Mayer placed 13th in a time of 25:13.45 to also earn Second Team All-Conference.  Sophomore Carly Danoski came in 17th after finishing in 25:46.05 while junior Alyssa Limbaugh ran 26:19.03 for the Blue and Grey to place 24th. Rounding out the top five for Moravian was sophomore Marlee Hornbaker, who finished the course in 26:47.43 for 26th overall.

Freshman Natalie Novotni ran in 27:09.59 to finish in 30th while freshman Molly Talarico finished in 43rd and ran in 28:11.53. Sophomore Rachel Mikols had a time of 28:36.53 while senior Kirsten Lebo finished in 28:46.97. Freshmen Julia Freet and Alison Nicolosi were the next two to finish for Moravian. Freet completing the race in 30:45.44 and Nicolosi finishing in 31:29.67. Sophomore Shayne McNally rounded out the Greyhounds and turned in a season-best time of 32:58.33.

The Greyhounds will have a week off before running in the 2017 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by Dickinson College on Saturday, November 11.
