Smurla Selected as Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Freshman Tara Smurla of the Moravian University women's cross country team has been selected as this week's Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.

Smurla earned her first collegiate victory, placing first of the 38 runners on the 6,000-meter course in a time of 24:03.5 at the Caslin Classic hosted by Goucher College Saturday as the Greyhounds took first overall. Smurla won the meet by a minute and 15 seconds.

The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
